LaseMD Ultra
Non-ablative fractional laser resurfacing for tone, texture and pigmentation — the treatment behind an even, lit-from-within skin.

What it is
LaseMD Ultra by Lutronic creates microscopic channels across the treatment area, prompting the skin’s own renewal process in the layers where tone and texture are actually decided. Because it is non-ablative, it works without removing the surface of the skin. Those same micro-channels also allow targeted cosmeceutical serums to be applied directly into the skin at the end of a session.
Most pigmentation does not sit on the surface, which is why it survives every exfoliant you have tried. This works at the level where the problem lives. The intensity is tailored rather than fixed, from a light refresh through to something more intensive, depending on your skin and what you want to change.

What to expect
Your provider assesses your skin and your history — recent sun exposure, pregnancy, medication, and any history of cold sores or keloid scarring all change the plan. Tell them about all of it.
The handpiece passes across the treatment area. Most people describe heat and a prickling sensation rather than sharp pain.
Redness and a warm, sandpapery feeling are common initially. Sun protection afterwards is not optional — it is part of the treatment, particularly where pigmentation is the target.
Skin renews over weeks, not overnight. Tone and texture changes are judged across a course rather than after a single session.
This page is general information, not medical advice. Whether a treatment is appropriate for you depends on your skin and your medical history — that is what a consultation is for.
Quick answers to questions you may have
Can LaseMD Ultra treat melasma?
It is used for melasma, but melasma is treated differently from other pigmentation. It is hormonally driven and it can recur, so it is planned as a course with daily sun protection built in from the start rather than added afterwards. Anyone promising to clear melasma permanently is overpromising.
Is this the same as laser hair removal?
No. Laser hair removal targets the hair follicle — we use DiolazeXL by InMode for that. LaseMD Ultra resurfaces the skin itself. They are different treatments for different goals, and they happen to share the word laser.
Will it help with acne scarring?
It can help with mild textural scarring. Deeper, pitted scarring often needs something that works further down, and a consultation should tell you plainly which category yours falls into rather than starting a course and hoping.
Do I need to avoid the sun?
Yes, and more carefully than usual. Sun exposure after resurfacing is the fastest way to undo the result, and with pigmentation it can make things worse than before. Your provider will give you specific aftercare.
